A Parisian cabaret dances its way back to Winnipeg
RWB brings back popular romance
Royal Winnipeg Ballet principal dancer Vanessa Lawson will have her last performance before retirement in Moulin Rouge - The Ballet on May 5. A solo as artist Toulouse-Lautrec’s muse was created especially for Lawson, who spent 16 years dancing for RWB.
The set for the RWB’s Moulin Rouge is stunningly beautiful, with a lit up Eiffel Tower setting a romantic scene for lovers Nathalie and Matthew, portrayed by Jo-Ann Sundermeier and Dmitri Dovgoselets.
